I do like reminisces, and this is an honest, evocative and poignant piece. I know the feelings of love and frustration when a family member has an illness. My gran had Alzheimer's for years.

I was an '80s punk (these days I'm a 2020s one), and I've been to Skegness a couple of times, so I could relate. It's been a while since I saw a Ford Cortina though.

In other news, the word hoick was the answer to a clue in a crossword I did just last night.

Thanks for posting.
