The first write-to-earn platform I came across was Helium. I signed up, but I didn’t really get it so I contributed little and made zilch. Then, along came Triond. I had a better grasp of what this was about, and some of the articles I submitted there accrued thousands of views, but no cash.

Along Came Bubblews

Then a game-changer came along in the form of Bubblews. Here was a site that paid for micro articles (called bubbles) that only needed to be 400 characters long. Yes, that’s characters, not words. My (then) partner and I started rattling off articles, asking such questions as whether or not you like craft beers, and do you own a teapot?

Bubblews paid out when a thirty dollar threshold had been reached. Typically, I might cash out twice in a week, and my partner once, and these positions might be reversed the following week, when she would cash out twice. Between us, we were raking in about $90 per week for very little effort. But the plan was doomed to fail.
